Pros

2nd largest STM publisher, great brands, excellent work-life balance, decent salary

Cons

Upper management is out of touch with the workers, Nature Editorial (especially VPs) are highly unprofessional compared to other colleagues, constantly focussed on revenue generation at all costs, lack of clear career progression

Pros

Learn all about large-scale academic publishing Friendly & knowledgeable co-workers Work with international teams and vendors Modern offices and decent computer equipment/software

Cons

Not much training-you're on your own to figure things out much of the time Many higher up jobs were transferred from US to UK offices so US advancement opportunities limited unless you're willing to locate overseas Pay is low for this industry Working on international teams can inhibit work/life balance
