Pros
- Most peers are very skilled, dedicated, and passionate, which makes working alongside them wonderful. - Excellent 401k match, great healthcare benefits, great other benefits (compensated phone plans, etc.).
Cons
- Management (essentially anyone NOT working on a project/at a client) heavily micro-manages any project staff/engineers/technical resources, bombarding them with HR processes, unnecessary/irrelevant training, and internal "certifications". - Huge push for unskilled offshore staffing at clients for maximum cost savings, often to the detriment of the success of the project. - Promotion process is undefined and has changed drastically every single year I have been at Sogeti. Pay raises are decoupled from role/promotions and are entirely ad-hoc without any kind of consistent process. Regional management defers pay decisions to "corporate" and are allegedly unable to make raise/promotion decisions independently. - Clients are allowed to take significant advantage of skilled/top performers with very little pushback from Sogeti management. No feedback loop from client > Sogeti to prevent burnout and protect consultants. - Middling pay with very little upward mobility unless you are pursuing a role in sales or client partnership.
