Pros

Seems great at first. Very laid back, friendly culture. Promise you the world - lots of travel, great benefits, managers claim that many technically only work 4 days a week (Friday being a throw away day, or social day)

Cons

This is quickly taken away. Given work that is not your job. Bait and switch. They are horrible to partners and current employees. Nepotism runs rampant - if you are a long time employee connected to higher ups, you get to call all the shots regardless of how unethical it may be.

Pros

Unfortunately, very few. There were/ are a few decent people in the business who made life a little easier, particularly some who had been around for a long time

Cons

Senior leadership was awful. Very low EQ, a complete lack of empathy and no structure. Its why I left. I felt very strongly that the company was becoming worse on a day to day basis with the leadership completely out of touch with what was needed to get back on course. Although the private equity debacle was fun to watch from the sidelines it distracted the leadership who lost focus on what was important. I assume this is still going on and continues to distract?

Pros

Worked with some very smart people

Cons

During the recruitment process, I was informed that the company was expanding the practice in preparation for new business. However, just five months later, I was laid off due to the company not meeting its financial targets. Management team needs to do better at communicating and engaging with employees. SoftwareOne offers Discretionary Time Off (DTO) instead of traditional Personal Time Off (PTO). While DTO is theoretically "unlimited," it does not accrue like PTO. As a result, if you live in a state where unused time off must be paid out, DTO would not qualify for a payout. This structure ultimately benefits the employer more than the employee, as it reduces liability for unused vacation payouts.
