Pros

Salary is good, at market rates. Colleagues are awesome people to work with. CEO is professional and a great leader for the company.

Cons

Management don’t listen to staff. Excessive pressure placed on staff to perform, even though they are doing well. Staff are constantly overworked. Management only interested in the dollars, not the people. EBITDA the most important thing for the company. High turnover and no support for staff to grow and develop. Constant back-stabbing and gossip from management. Which is very sad as they should know better. They get told to do something to fix the situation but it is completely ignored.

Mixed feelings reading this feedback. It gives me confidence that you see the values in your colleagues and in the CEO. However of course it's concerning to read the other comments. I hope we have captured your feedback in the employee engagement surveys and that you were provided the chance to give this directly in your time here. If you every have the chance and would be open to it, I'd love to hear from your personally. In any case, I wish you every success in your new path and thank you for investing part of your career with us. John.

Pros

SoftwareONE has a good vision and a good go forward strategy. They are in line with the market

Cons

Leadership literally believes its own lies. And they push it to the field team as if it is the absolute truth. Their leadership is completely out of touch with their competition and they also "believe" everything they develop as an offering is the only offering of its kind in the industry, which could not be farther from the truth. Their pompous, narcissistic, self serving egos make them blind to having an intelligent conversation with customers. The comp plan is unattainable, and they have no interest in helping anyone to attain it. Here's a phone book....good luck. NO pre-sales support, which makes getting the sale extremely difficult. Turn over is ridiculous, so even if you engage a resource, they are gone before the project can get off the ground. Additionally, leadership in the US is so young and arrogant and they have never worked at anywhere other than SWO, so their expertise is hugely limited.

Hi - what can I say here? The language you use and perspective seem very deep set. Your comments are obviously concerning as the behaviours you describe are not in any way in line with our values or what we expect from any employee let alone leaders. I am also very sad that we have not been able to give you the right path to escalate this beyond the US given you feel so strongly - for this I am sorry and would still encourage you to write to me or our CEO directly so we can understand and take action. Having said that I do disagree with some of your comments: Compensation - it simply is not the case - 2018 we had the highest number of BDMs ever to attain or exceed annual quota. The total compensation available is higher than the majority of the industry for our performers - hence we still keep an uncapped variable in our sales structure. In terms of Sales Support, we have Solution Sales & Services organizations that loves nothing more than to enable solutions to our customers and then deliver them - I have not heard of anyone who has been told they cannot be helped if they ask for it - this IS in our values to love and support our colleagues. Finally whilst I agree that some of our leaders are inexperienced and I am sure will make mistakes, we are investing heavily in their development and are proud we have been able to build them within - no leader can ever be perfect and they need the support of their teams just as much as they need to be role models to be successful. I would be the first to address this head on if that were not the case so again, if you would be open to it, please help us understand more so we can improve. I will make myself available at any time for you. Regardless, I genuinely wish you every success and hope that you have found a company and environment that better meets your needs. Thanks again, John.

Pros

Singular focus on volume software licensing for corporations maintains maximum resources in areas of strength. Entrepreneurial culture, does its best to change rapidly to keep up with the pace of today's business.

Cons

Once-great company culture of respect for the individual, work hard/[play hard, flat organizational structure, etc. has now been discarded in favor of power politics, cut-throat pressure, hire and fire in a manic drive to achieve in four years what has taken other companies much more time to build up. Boundlessly arrogant Swiss, German, and English leadership team look upon the American company with disdain and have pretty much wiped out those key differentiators that made the original SoftwareONE in the U.S. a success before the merger with the Swiss company. Manic Swiss CEO runs the company like it still has 25 employees instead of 2,000, allowing no one else but himself to make most final decisions, including having to personally approve every hire in the US, etc. Five levels of management underneath him all have to run everything of significance up his ladder. He conducts himself outside of the company values that he preaches to everyone else. Morale in the organization has taken a nosedive in the last two years.
