Pros

If you don’t care most employees and managers don’t care either. Since the merger rest and vest is a way of life

Cons

If you are actually a qualified employee who values work ethic steer clear. They promote DEI above everything else. If your colleague is part of that collect them all set then their career is set even if their abilities are two levels below where their title says they should be. Females made up 25% of the engineering force but 50% of promotions one year, If you were not DEI they didn’t even consider you. Basically if you are looking to work with the best and brightest peoples you ever will in you career… steer clear you will be sadly disappointed.

Pros

The product works well and once a company or organization starts using Slack they immediately see the benefit. There are a lot of people out there who do no like teams and view Slack as superior.

Cons

Very tough to do a deal with Slack and upsell existing clients. The free version works for a lot of small companies and Teams is essentially free or was free at one point and there are many who would just use that b/c it comes with the MS Office package. The only selling point to upgrade or do a big deal is the security around it and that is not as compelling to spend 250K-500k per year for most of the companies i was working with.
