Okay Company to Work for

Pros

They care about their employees and the well being of each one. The pay is also good for entry level sales.

Cons

They don't listen well to request from employees. The upper management makes all the decisions without taking ideas from lower level employees. For an established company they still have a lot of sectors of the company that need improvement.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, as we do read every one of our reviews. Its wonderful to read that some of the best parts of working with SiteMinder are great pay and a caring environment for all employees as this is exactly what we strive for. Thank you so much for the constructive parts of your feedback as well! As you will know since moving into the role of VP, our Sales reps have a weekly sales team meeting with myself where we have an open forum to ask questions or give feedback. This has resulted in the implementation of local changes in our sales org: changes to sales enablement material, territory/account modifications, roll out of incentives and more social events locally like happy hour! We have an open feedback culture through our culture app, OfficeVibe and our AMERs Managers (including myself!) regularly respond to feedback this way, so please do flag the requests you have !We also run through Officevibe comments with managers with the goal of identifying action items. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's great to see you enjoyed the many cultures at SiteMinder, we value greatly our diverse workforce and also that you found out products interesting, which of course we are very proud of! Regarding salaries, we put a lot of work into ensuring we are competitive in the market and that we compensate our employees well for their hard word and commitment. We engage in significant benchmarking exercises both on a global and local level to ensure that is the case. We are proud of our leaders and work hard to ensure they have the tools they need to be effective leaders. Leadership is one of our key metrics that we monitor closely via our OfficeVibe engagement tool and one which we consistently score well on, so it's disappointing to see your view on this. We wish you all the best in your next role and thanks again for taking the time to write a review. Anna Kennedy, HRBP, Galway

Mediocre.

Pros

Not the worst company. But a long way from good Australian employers that support their employees and enable the best outcomes and delivery from their teams. > Some nice people > Free snacks in the office I guess > 1-2 day hybrid model is nice, flexible to work from home, then everyone comes together to collab on Thursdays > Pace is kinda slow (not enough engineers or design resources to make the pace of delivery significant) - which can be a pro or a con depending on what you are after. If you're after a non-stressful gig and you're good at your tech role then it'll be pretty cruisy for you so you can deliver what's expected and then not have to stress too much. For people who need a faster pace, you will get frustrated.

Cons

> Really weird contract conditions that I'd recommend you have a lawyer read over before you sign your offer > Substandard policies compared to similar AU tech companies for benefits (remote, bonus, parental leave) > Meaningless bonus that doesn't pay out - you'll be quoted a number in your offer. But it's actually shadow shares. The shares don't exist unless you met the condition of staying at the company for x period of time. Ultimately it's a psychological trick to make you consider staying long enough for those fake shares to turn into real shares... but if you do the numbers over the long term you're potentially better off ignoring and then leveraging your experience after 2-3 years to land a larger package somewhere else. As the price for loyalty doesn't bare out > Slow pace won't be good for your career long-term. Most smart people seem to leave
