Great internship, for potentially dreadful job if you don't speak Korean and cannot communicate!
Pros
I did a 9 week internship in the group working on audio path hardware and software for TVs. Pros: 1. Interns are treated well - pay is good, accommodation was amazing, and we were not expected to work the standard long hours. 2. Because I had some previous experience I got assigned meaningful (but not in anyway useful for the company) tasks and actually learned some technical skills. 3. Other interns were really smart and good people to hang out with 4. Free Korean classes - opportunity to pick up basic Korean 5. Opportunity to travel around Korea afterwards 6. Insight into corporate culture of a massive "eastern" company
Cons
1. Big one - language barrier. A lot of employees are either not good at English or are reluctant to use it. If you can't speak the language (Korean), you can hardy do your best! 2. Long working hours. A lot of people choose to/have to work from around 8 till around 9-11. Its very widespread and a lot of people seem to prefer work to family. 3. Lack of social like - 1 and 2 combined means that its hard to make Korean friends (language barrier) and little time to do anything outside work.
