Pros

I have been at SAGE for over 12 years and I love my job and the company. The opportunities I have been given to grow my career and advance my education over the years have been simply amazing. SAGE is extremely generous with their employees and the perks and benefits are amazing. From day one, I have felt extremely lucky and honored to be employed here. I’ve worked at other companies and SAGE is by far the best place I’ve been, a place I hope to retire from. The culture fits my style too. The work environment is safe, clean, balanced, and (most) employees are friendly and welcoming. Here are some issues I have with other reviews I’ve read on here. (1) People complain about low pay. The out-of-pocket cost each employee pays for benefits adds money in your pocket along with peace of mind knowing your health is covered by a great package. I am happy with my salary and benefits package. (2) Is it quiet here? Yes, but this is a book publishing company. People are editing books, developing applications to make our jobs easier, assisting customers, and so on. Step away from your desk and talk to someone. People are generally open to chat and welcome a break from their computer screen. (3) Complaining about free lunches, really? You don't like what they offer, go buy or bring your own food on Fridays. (4) Another review says they’re “Unhappy and stuck”. No one is chaining you to your desk. Go find another job, period. Everyone is in charge of their own happiness and destiny. If you want to be happy and fulfilled at work, make the best of things, smile, be friendly, open-minded, accepting of change. If you want to better yourself, make it clear to your manager you are interested in training, mentoring, etc. If you want to complain, go find a new employer, plain and simple.

Cons

I have nothing to complain about. Are all managers great? No. Are there office politics? Yes (what company doesn't) Have a lot of work on your plate? Join the club. I do what I can.
