Pros

The culture at Sage is super collaborative—people really help each other out, even at the VP level. I hear “yes, I’ll help” all the time, and that makes a huge difference. Leadership is supportive, and you can tell the positive culture starts at the top. The benefits are fantastic: generous PTO, holidays, and paid volunteer days. I also receive a $50 wellness credit every month to lower my medical premium. My office was recently remodeled with lots of greenery and spaces designed for rest and privacy. One of the things I appreciate most is the caliber of people—not just super smart, but high IQ. Best of both worlds.

Cons

Sometimes we run out of basic things in the office like milk for coffee or tea. Occasional snacks always make people smile, so it would be great to see more of that. I’d also encourage more listening to those closest to customers and employees. Leaning in on the “ground floor” can uncover what’s really going on and would be enormously beneficial to the company’s competitive edge and bottom line—what’s working, what’s not, and new ideas. An idea would be to create a communication channel where recommendations and innovations can be shared, and then take action to implement them. Otherwise, there’s a risk of becoming disconnected from the realities on the ground when strategy and tactical operations are developed and cascaded down.

Terrible Pay Benefits - receding salary y-o-y

Pros

Great People who are always willing to help and give their best work. You will end up working and staying at Sage more for the people you work with!

Cons

High performance culture is starting to feel like exploitation. Endless admin, not enough time to do the real work, and then after-hours just to stay afloat. We innovate, we improve, but we’re not recognised. Sage demands our full worth, but isn't willing to pay for it (they cap your salary and tell you that you have reached your salary band - which you have no sight of - and will do nothing to assist the situation. So your salary receeds annually vs grows - creating an under inflation salary whilst times get tougher). Benefits are not the same and are inconsistent. I.e. Leave and also Maternity benefits. They will give you the bear minimum based on local labour regulations vs offer a standard approach accross. They can learn from their UK-based Virgin company which does for ALL their employees.
