Pros

Strong brand recognition in the market and talented individuals across the broader organization. Opportunity to work with complex customers and understand growth challenges at scale. The role itself had potential to drive impact if supported by clearer strategy and tooling.

Cons

The growth organization lacked fundamental structure and clear objectives. There was no consistent guidance on priorities or success criteria, and teams largely operated in silos. Products did not integrate well with core systems, making it difficult to execute or measure outcomes effectively. There were no reliable metrics or data sources to track performance, and on multiple occasions leadership reporting was expected without factual data to support it, which undermined trust and accountability.

Pros

- Ideas are encouraged, if you’ve got the data to back up what you want to test/trial, then the world’s your oyster! - The bonus scheme potential is lucrative, although it would be very interesting to see who actually achieves an Outperforming rating (and what they did to be awarded with this). - Free hot drinks machine on each floor. There was free fruit for a limited period of time, although this has disappeared without any reasons given.

Cons

- No escalation process. There are always challenges back, enough so the issue remains with whoever is attempting to escalate. If something is actually taken away by Leadership, nothing is heard back in return. Appreciation - This seems to be significantly lacking in the backline team I’m part of. If something goes wrong or an error is made, this is called out/noticed straight away. When something goes right/effort put in to ensure minimal impact and/or no ongoing impact, nobody bats an eyelid. More of a ‘well it’s your job’ attitude. No spontaneity in the Leadership Team - Everything seems scripted, it’s obvious when they are trying to do something different or why they are trying to do something different.
