Pros

By the end of the year you end up making very good money in comparison to other engineers in other industries.

Cons

You’re hardly an engineer more like an oil field technician despite being paid less than people with less responsibilities. The coworkers can be toxic and feel like you need to share their misery in order for them to respect you. The company suddenly decided that they want to pay you less before you’re even about to get promoted. Big egos everywhere who talk about lack of leadership but aren’t anywhere near a good model themselves.

Pros

SAFETY first, Travel, new experiences, work with the best people in the industry, training in Abu Dhabi, Global Exposure, and a handsome salary.

Cons

zero work-life balance, no fixed working hours, proper blue-collar job, away in the field most of the time, no fixed place to work
