Pros

Stable employment, good performance review process, opportunities overseas, challenging technical assignments and work, good IT infrastructure and support, relative freedom on how to do the job, not very intrusive management

Cons

Company is very large and sometimes the scope of activities is very large, there is too much variability and intertia also among groups in the level of adoption of latest software technology

Pros

SLB offers a chance to work with cutting edge technology and interesting real-world engineering problems. It has a constructive and helpful ethos and the colleagues are very friendly.

Cons

It is a large and bureaucratic organization. You can get stuff done as long as you are prepared to tick the boxes as well.

Pros

Resources. Global presence. Travel opportunities. Great people.

Cons

Duplication of effort. With 120K employees and many different business units you can spend a month working on something that someone else has already written a solution for before you find out the work is not needed.
