      Lifestyle is good. You can work your own hours.

      Cons

      They will fire you as an American and keep the foreign visa holder doing the same job the next desk over. Surprised they have not been reported to the DOJ. Once the price of oil goes down you are just a number. My Manager was from overseas, not even a HS Diploma, had no idea what he was doing, but here he is running the business for NA. Shameful.

      3 Years, 3 Data Science heads, 3 Blunders

      The Data Science groups at Schlumberger Pune are really great made up of all Masters & PHDs from IITs, NITs. They are doing work in terms of "industrial" research & AI/ ML Application Development

      Cons

      One of the centers is PITC, which also has a great Data Science Team like any other Schlumberger center. But the problem here is the senior management, since last 3 years, they have already fired two Data Science Manager/ Heads. Most of their good members have left & I have heard the new data Science head is even a bigger disaster :D If you are ever planning to join the PITC Data Science team, please check the Manager credential, mostly it will be someone stupid, if so, please avoid it.

      The local leadership decides if you have a good position. As an engineer you should have a defined career path, however some leadership views sharing your career path as a secret. It's not hard to move up, but sometimes they'll force you into a spot that you will not like without any warning.
