Pros

Schlumberger employees are given a high level of responsibility and autonomy from the beginning. Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) management processes are unparalleled in the industry. There is a long standing culture of diversity and excellent opportunities for women. Schlumberger offers excellent benefits and family support. The organization is filled with knowledgeable employees, has ample opportunities for learning, and excellent knowledge sharing tools in use. It is a global organization, offering plenty of opportunity for changing one's profession or location.

Cons

None in my experience. Many people in the company work long hours, but there is a high level of dedication to the job and to the customer.

Pros

Good pay package. The company rewards hard work, and if you're willing to put the extra effort and hours, you will make a lot more money. Field engineers tend to make a % of the work done on top of their base salaries, so you can get rich fairly quickly. Training is pretty good too.

Cons

Work-life balance is not the greatest. Hours can be unusual. Locations are horrible, unless you enjoy living in the middle of no where.

Pros

It you want to work in the field you can work overtime and make lots of money. Otherwise you will be expected to put in tons of time on a Salaried job. It can work to your benefit if you have a good arrangement with your direct manager, but otherwise it could be miserable. Mostly, I would recommend getting training here and going somewhere else.

Cons

Management will essentially lie to you about their decisions. They do not compensate well comparied to other industries in my job. They give terrible pay raises, even if you are ranked exceptionally well and the company is doing exceptionally well.
