Pros

I started a year before everything came crashing down, and then everyone was making lots of money, doing training overseas, spending company money on great meals out, and everyone was working hard, playing harder, and making a fortune.

Cons

Now in the recession you'll make average money, but put in 100+ hour weeks. Training if it can be had will be at the most local center. No meals out, no fitness bonuses, very few/no international assignments even though they pride themselves on that. Just about the same amount of work and time away from home as before, but none of the perks. Morale is very low now.

Pros

Great pay, great training program, a lot of opportunity for growth. You will meet people from all over the world and have the opportunity to travel all over the world

Cons

They will work you until you drop. Expect to sleep in the back of pickups at dig sites you will likely be living at for days at a time.
