      Great place to work but ruthless when it comes to cutting staff

      Pros

      I really enjoyed my time at Schlumberger being a female engineer. I never understood where all the bad stories came from. I got support from managers, took on a lot of responsibilities, got to travel the world and made great friends

      Cons

      I was "let go" after my leave of absence for study was over. They didn't pay redundancy even after 7 years of service. I felt that was really ruthless and inconsiderate considering I gave the best part of my youth to the company

      Flexible hours and attire, knowledge sharing, beautiful offfice, average employee age around 30 years old, more than 7 nationalities, location near to shopping mall, east parking

      Cons

      competiton is tough between 700+ employees, a shared service organisation, timing is a bit off if you're handling europe/african countries

      Pros

      Interesting technical work Informal workplace (though contradicted in part by the con below) Great colleagues to work with. Good amount of vacation.

      Cons

      Salaries are mediocre. Management is implementing more and more policies and procedures to micro-manage employees. Managers don't really manage people, they manage policies. These policies are burdensome, time-wasting, and demotivating.
