Pros

Good reviews you keep your job. Work as much as you want till jobs run out. This year they weeded out people with transfers instead of firing/laying off people. If you are lucky you get a good set of knowledgeable people to work with when you hire on.

Cons

My field of work you don't advance, by what you know. Have 11 years in company and get passed up by someone with 2 years. The learning advancement I-Learn, is so out dated and information cant be found on subjects. There is no type of seniority structure in the company. There is a time frame to advance, but not given time to accomplish the task. Going to 7week course to learn what you already know.

Pros

Excellent training, all processes well-defined, you know what to do to get promoted, its all in your hands hard work, you can choose to continue on technical ladder or choose managerial and you will be on the same level no matter which one you choose. Wow, its indeed and excellent company. Ability to travel and work worldwide

Cons

Head count reduction when there is a downturn is very bad, the company is now known for this worldwide which is bad. Job security reduces employees morale ad they opt out whenever they can

Pros

Great Pay Lots of exciting traveling all paid for by the company 17% flat tax when working international 6 weeks on 3 weeks off in remote location (almost never honored, but the days off accumulate) Challenging A lot of responsibility from the beginning Tons of great training Working with people from all different countries and different backgrounds When you get a difficult job done, it can feel very rewarding

Cons

Very difficult to maintain any kind of work-life balance. The more work you can handle, the more they will give you until you eventually brake. Any small mistake can end up being your last with the company Management, more-so the industry, forgets that we are people, not robots Lack of sleep sometimes or any kind of sleep schedule No set work-on, work-off schedule - it all depends on what's going on - very difficult to plan anything You end up missing big events with your family & friends such as weddings and group vacations Difficult to keep a healthy relationship with girlfriend/spouse
