Pros

Plane tickets for school and sometimes a nice hotel

Cons

Being a trainee at wireline is the worst first job you can take, at least in Latin America. You think it’s good money, actually a lot more than you would expect of a first job; however it’s only 2.5 minimum salaries for undefined hours with long shifts (12+ hours if you’re a trainee because they expect you to be at their beg and call always) Do the math, I assure you it’s actually less per hour than a regular 9-5. You always will find the uncomfortable feeling that someone is mad at you or that you screwed up, they won’t tell you how or why but that’s the feeling you’re supposed to get. However you cannot show signs of emotional distress, even in the bathroom (do NOT CRY in the bathroom or with your coworkers - and the obvious being do not cry or be upset in front of your superiors). Everyone you work with is passive agressive and expect you to do things or get things that aren’t common sense or come in any manual. School is of no help in that case. Favoritism to some trainees is the bread and butter, subtle, but brutal.
