Pros

As a fresh out graduate SLB offers an excellent place to start a portfolio career. There are many overseas assignment opportunities to gain industry field experience. Training opportunities are quite good and also provide travel opportunity. Base salary is lower than average for industry than but the complete package is reasonable although requires long service to get the best from it. Well developed QHSE system and associated training.

Cons

Long seniority required to make pension vesting. During downturn redundancies are swift and process is not transparent. Oversaturation of middle management, staff often have multiple managers that change frequently. Can be difficult to make career progression.

Pros

Diverse, multi-cultural teams Exciting, hands-on experiences Significant travel & over-seas opportunities Competitive Salary and Benefits Low GPA requirements and 'open-minded' approach to recruitment Meritocratic company spirit

Cons

Difficult work-life expectations Long hours Difficulty managing personal time off (must adapt to business needs) Difficult to relocate to home country if needed 'Harsh' or 'old-school' management style (in some, specific instances) In some countries, locals may receive unfair advantages (though this is stipulated by the government, not be the company)
