Pros

It is a great place to learn about different work aspects and cultures. At the end of the day, the work is done safely.

Cons

To be very honest I have no Cons. Maybe being away from the family every now and then but SLB has things in place to allow personnel to have a more active family life also.

Pros

This job will be good as a first job in the industry, Training - Their training is among the best in the world and they will teach you from the ground up. Prepare to get dirty as you will be doing lots of hands on training. Career Progression - You are in a program that will train you on how to be a manager in a few years, Travel - When you get enough experience you may be able to travel to many different states People - you will meet a lot of great people internal and external Pay - It's very good after you get promoted out of trainee status (6-8 months usually) This job will 100% help you grow many skills in most business lines: Customer Engagement Interpersonal Skills Working with tools Problem solving/Troubleshooting Leadership Etc.

Cons

Almost all business lines work very long hours (12+ is very common), Do not expect a worklife balance Work is remote most of the time Labor Intensive - For some lines you can be lifting and dragging very heavy pieces of equipment. You will also be expected to work in extreme heat, cold , rain, snow, etc. If you don't like driving multiple hours to and from locations, this job is not for you. Ask the right questions and choose the right business line for you. The hours and work will burn you out quickly if you don't choose what you think you will be passionate in.
