Pros

Beautiful campus, good cafeterias, above average benefits, gym and pool on site, etc. In general the company is a good place with lots of resources and the people are friendly. Always ranked as one of the best employers which is probably true as long as you are not in a quota carrying sales role.

Cons

If you are thinking of a career in sales (either inside sales or field sales) here I didn't find it to be a good opportunity for a seasoned sales professional in healthcare. Metrics are unattainable unless you get the right accounts which the long timers with 10-15 years of tenure are assigned. Lots of cold calling and they embrace "social selling" and use LinkedIn, Twitter, etc., as a core part of the sales culture. Not a lot of opportunity (i.e., trade shows, industry events) to meet with clients/prospects outside of purely cold calling to setup meetings. Hiring lots of younger generations out of college and into their Sales Academy program which are then promoted into field sales positions. Lack of industry-specific solutions for healthcare and they were out-of-touch with what it takes to survive in the crowded healthcare IT industry.

Pros

Probably among the best benefit packages in the market. Great people and culture. Modern approach to work/life balance. Helpful and generous approach between co-workers as well as from international top management. Great on boarding program and continuos training.

Cons

Very conservative and product oriented. Facing some structural challenges to keep up with new emerging "good enough" players. Vague positioning and value offering. There has been too much focus on achieving short term numbers at the expense of investing in building local market awareness, positioning and branding.

Pros

A great campus for employees with good cafeterias, gym, swimming pool, on-site child care and other facilities like ATM, postal service, healthcare clinic etc. Life is more manageable working in SAS. Lots of resources for learning and access to great R&D team is a huge plus being in Cary.

Cons

Top management is excellent but middle management sucks! It is like working in a group of dictators who are part of the company for at least 10 years and knows the best and care less about company's interest. Feeding their own ego comes before everything else. If you are a type A personality and you have to report to a manager who is below VP level this job might destroy you no matter how creative or how talented you are. However few departments are outside of it. In general salary is at least 15%-30% lower than the market.
