Pros

Having a Job, Medical Insurance

Cons

Don't believe the hype. It is a very stressful work environment and you can not trust management. SAS used to be a great place to work but not anymore now that they are struggling to stay open. Employees are targeted and watched like a hawk as they decide who stays and who goes.

Pros

Nice offices, great food in the various cafes, pretty campus.

Cons

Your immediate manager has complete control over your career. All the documentation in the world to dispute a situation doesn't matter to HR. HR is only there for the company's benefit, not the employee's.

Don't be fooled...

Pros

They have amazing benefits. SAS shuts down for basically most of December and they truly take care of their employees. Work life balance is unmatched.

Cons

Don't be fooled by the hype. SAS in Cary is a nepotism filled, "cool group clique," very close minded place. Middle management is terrible and HR is the worst I've experienced. Middle management in sales will sell you down the river because they don't like you, regardless of how much you sell. I've seen multiple, smart and talented people go on performance plans because they are not in the cool group at SAS. You can be a manager if you hit quota - regardless of if you are qualified for the position or not. This is a well known fact at SAS and they are losing a ton of talent because of it. Oh and if you have a problem, don't bother with HR. They are so intertwined with managers that it doesn't matter what you say - they won't ever help or listen.
