      A real look at SAS Institute

      Pros

      SAS Institute has a beautiful campus, wonderful people and great benefits. There is a healthcare facility and pharmacy on campus.

      Cons

      The salary is below industry standards for many positions and opportunities for advancement are rare. Since the financial meltdown, all positions (except for sales) have been on a hiring freeze - meaning that their is no increase in staff but an ongoing increase in the amount of work required of each employee. This becomes a burden for even for over achievers.

      Pros

      Everybody gets their own office. My office has a great view. The office buildings are all very nice. Job security is very good.

      Cons

      No professional-growth opportunities. No organized feedback to/from immediate management. No contact whatsoever with upper management. Very long work hours with little acknowledgement for good work.

      GREAT benefits; best i have ever seen Room to grow Challenging Everyone is on the same team Treated with respect and valued as an employee

      Cons

      Human Resources needs to take seriously and do something about the complaints of employees, especially if more than one person is complaining about the same issue and they are willing to leave a place they like due to the same issue. One bad apple should not be allowed to spoil the whole bunch.
