Pros

Health care benefits are above average, great benefits if you have children in day care. I don't use onsite gym and only go to health care for annual physicals but a lot of people do. I suppose this is great benefits. On site cafes are convinient. I love the fact that everyone has his or her own office.

Cons

Salary is not as competitive as the industry and the merit increases are not rewarded to the most hard working or capable employees. Instead it is rewarded more evenly across the board. SAS is facing a lot competitors from the open sources in the Analytics market, and there is a lot of uncertainty as what is going to happen when the ceo retires.

Pros

SAS has some of the smartest, savviest people working for the company. The company has many resources that help you be more productive. Also, they are the kindest and become an extension of your community. I was inspired by my work at SAS and made lasting friendships there.

Cons

Career development and growth pathing is vague, and for the most part, left to the individual to drive. It's difficult to move into other roles because of the extremely low turnover and the lack of planned rotations among employees. Still, people grow over time.

Pros

Good people to work with, great customers, exciting atmosphere from a technology perspective.

Cons

Benefits aren't as great as touted, especially if you don't have kids. The effective employees get massive amounts of work dumped on them while the ineffective employees get to live the "SAS Work/Life Balance" that is so highly regarded.
