Some good, some bad

Pros

Employee benefits, especially if you work in Cary. Human Resources team is sharp and genuinely cares about employees. Work life balance is respected. Product/solution leadership in analytics marketplace from an install base standpoint.

Cons

Sales driven culture does not exist with internal teams such as legal, operations, and compensation. Research and development is slow and bloated. Sales organization is not respected by CEO and is seen as a necessary evil. Compensation is below average and they try to make up the difference by touting their benefits.

Pros

Government like employee retention policy, no one gets fired or leaves. Great culture for such a large company Great Healthcare Beautiful Campus.

Cons

Hiring family within the same work group is "not allowed" but the policy isn't enforced. How a company this large doesn't see that is a problem is beyond me. DMV like retention policy, no one gets fired or leaves so ideas and promotions are very stagnant. IT managers have a "but we have always done it this way" mentality. Oppressive turfism is some areas Intertwined areas of responsibility Very few employees work at the SAS described in Fortune, the rest are just a number. Company culture breeds complacency and people who desire to move up and have responsibility are held down so the people around them can "work just hard enough not to get fired." I feel like I'm on the set of Office Space everyday. Promotions or transfers rely on the good ole'boy program. Pay is industry low

Pros

Good salary, benefits but most of them are useless to most people.

Cons

Senior management has no clue about the industry practice they are heading. People expect everything on a platter and make an issue out of everything.
