Pros

This would have been reasons to work for SAP 4-5 years back 1. Great work environment 2. Highly professional workforce 3. Great Human Resource department 4. Extremely employee friendly policies ( even to the extent of astonishment) 5. A learning center - mecca 6. Clear missions and objective 7. Safe and sound work environment 8. A training heaven The reasons to work for SAP today 1. Still a great place to work 2. Employee friendly policies exist though they are thinned down 3. Still a learning center 4. Amazing depth of industrial knowledge available to people who want to learn 5. Opportunity for self development is very high

Cons

SAP today in India esp ( any subsidiary ) is like Bangalore city. A vibrant workforce working for betterment of company and their self. A peaceful place that has turned chaotic however it still shows material progress . Work- life balance is totally tilted towards you know what. There are a lot of politicians who are busy in their own lives and making everything comfortable. The comfort or satisfaction of people ranks low . There is an strong incumbancy which is not scared of anything and will make all efforts to discourage good workers and pull them down. Too much of favouritism which is playing havoc. Roads are not good while vehicles running on them are world's best. There are a lot of potholes and that too big ones. Sometimes bigger vehicle throw smaller ones off the road. I see much degradation in quality of life both in work and life .No surprise that a number of good people have left Bangalore whenever they could and the new breed that came in is serving the incumbents . Law and order is not respected. Rules change according to whims and fancies of the rulers. Right now everything from Offer letter to resignation letter speaks of high handedness of the ruling class. This is while Nero is sitting in Rome ( or somewhere else) . Need to have a radical change otherwise Bangalore will lose its charm and will become a city that it was once but for worse. Need to have a sweeper who can clean the dirty roads and make things better . In my life I think it is the first time I will be more happier if I was not in Bangalore. And that too despite fantastic weather.

Pros

experience in a successfull 50,000 employees company resume check industry experience i came to SAP because it provides me a great opportunity to use my MBA skills while leveraging my technology background - and indeed in SAP you get to do that. However, SAP in its nature as a huge company is very complex and therefore you cannot really make big changes as people are used to and like to work in a very certain way. I would recommend this place as an internship.

Cons

slow company - very complex in terms of organization

Pros

- SAP has a huge impact on how companies, large and small, run their business. Assuming you can convince SAP to bring some concept to market, you will change the work lives of a great many people. For those motivated by having an impact, there are few places where you could have more leverage. - SAP really values doing things right. Employees are proud of the company's reputation for "German quality engineering". Management actually pays attention to arguments based on architectural principles. Values are placed ahead of short-term financial gain (usually). - SAP appreciates that people have lives outside of work. - SAP is prepared to re-invent itself, even while growing and being profitable. Any company can re-invent itself when headed downwards, but SAP is willing to re-invent itself on the up-slope.

Cons

- SAP is a very big company -- over 50,000 employees -- and inefficiencies abound. Compared to the experience of working at a smaller company, at SAP there are plenty of resources to bring to bear on problems that need to be solved. But unfortunately many of those resources are currently aimed at problems that don't need to be solved. - It is hard to navigate through SAP. Knowing who to contact requires tapping into the tribal sources of knowledge. - SAP can be extremely political. The most important tool at SAP is your personal network. Being able to line up support can be critical to accomplishing an objective.
