There are lot of downsides when it comes to SAP GD per se. Do not misinterpret this as one linked to SAP the corporate as a whole. SAP as a corporate is a great place to work and one should be prouf of the Logo and the values attached to it. Only when it is linked to Global Delivery, India, the misery begins pour in.
Downsides of working:
1. A very Top Heavy centre
2. Senior Management and Middle Management - absolutely incompetent, incefficient, hypocrite, arrogant, lethargic, non- committal to its cient and employees, directionless, confused and above all lack real project experience and lack domain knowledge in their respective areas they manage
3. Huge pay discrepancy when one finds the the Top and Middle Management despite all the wrong reasons get fat pay packets at the cost and penury of the consultants who do the real job at the project sites and bring whatever accolades possible to GD including repeat business
4. Top and Middle Managment by and large indulge and believe in internal politics, divide and rule policy, flattering and `buttering' from their subordinates / juniors / peers - these being the basic tenets to move forward in this organisation
5. Promotions / accolades / rewards / awards are an absolute `no' `no' to the deserving candidates particulalry it they are firm, upright and do not have any GODFATHER in the organisation
6. Travel policies including Per Diem are absolutely miserable and highly discriminating and adds to the woos of the personal life of the consultants and all complaints related to these issues fall in deaf years
7. In the current world of equality more evident at the MNCs worldwise, the GD managment behaves like Feudal Lords
There are a lot of other cons but the summary above is self explanatory.
