Head office in Germany calls the shots, not much product management talent in Vancouver, lack of product vision and srategy, Vancouver is treated like a development sweatshop

Pros

SAP is a save harbor, pays very well and offers interesting software development projects. SAP has been growing from an old-school MS/Windows-focused company to an agile, open company not only offering jobs for all kinds of software-development experts, but also for computer science graduates.

Cons

Many departments are under constant reorganization, which may demotivate (younger) employees. Sometimes company politics will just not make sense to a regular developer. The workload can be very high sometimes and the career opportunities for "regular" workers with a family at home (40h/week) and part-time workers (parental leave) may be very restricted.
