Pros

Good team, good support, lots of learning experience. The project we did was meaningful and impactful. We joined a team that was customer facing and our performance directly impacted customer performance.

Cons

Lots of integration hurdles. Setting up computer, setting up dev environment, documents outdated incomplete at times. Jenkins is funky at times, deployment pipelines would fail for no apparent reason even though all test pass. Just unstable, but I guess all big companies faces similar issues.

Pros

- SAP offers a lot flexibility and benefits for it's employees (at least with my contract, which was a german one). You get a time account, pension programms etc. - I met a broad variety of passionated people with great skills in their profession. I sensed the average SAPee is pretty well trained. - Diversity is a strong part of the culture (though the Top Management is rather a (toxic?) boys club...)

Cons

- In my role as an Agile Coach I was completly missing an overall agile strategy, the slightest kind of governance or willingness to invest into the topic from the SAP Management and Board. Actually, it's quite horrifying for an IT company to have such low agile maturity and no one in the Top Management that even has an understanding for the basics of agile working. Thus, my job as an Agile Coach was often mediated by a lot of frustration and I am leaving this company for another place where agility is more than just a lip service. - Travel was hardly restricted in my time and it was almost impossible to get people together for Team- and Org Development activities. Yet, this is of utmost importance to build resliant and strong high performance teams... - career paths in the context of Agile are non-extistent / extremly weak.
