Pros

The Tech Team is made up of very smart and humble people, which you can learn a lot from. The entire company is taking a data-driven approach to doing business, so there are less philosophical discussions but more real, impactful and informed work being done. The top management team is very transparent about how the business is going. We also get internal training sessions from the top management team, on various business topics, which is very helpful to people interested in starting a business on their own at some point. We're growing very fast so there are days when I feel overwhelmed. It's good that I can take short breaks and play with the puppies in the office and recharge. It had a huge positive effect on me!

Cons

I can't think of any

Pros

In light of the ongoing internet conversation surrounding the recently leaked Googler's anti-diversity manifesto, I had cause to reflect on my experience as an engineer at Rover over the last 9 months. I feel extremely privileged to have found a working environment like the one we have at Rover. I have never had a shadow of a doubt that there has been a shade of sexism in any experience I have had as part of the Rover engineering team. All of the engineers and other people I have worked with at Rover have been 100% focused on collaboratively solving problems. Everyone I've worked with at Rover has been respectful.

Cons

If you don't like dogs, or an open office floor plan, it's got some major downsides. They're upsides for me personally.

Pros

This the seventh startup I've worked for, and the leadership team is the most thoughtful and clear-minded that I've worked for yet. They have a high level of integrity, and genuinely attempt to live the company's core values. Also, the office is pretty chill...I think this is because of all the dogs in the office. It's just really hard for people to lose their cool with these adorable creatures around!

Cons

Rover is growing fast -- the business is growing and the number of people are growing. If you're a person who is uncomfortable with rapid change, you would probably not enjoy working here.
