Pros

Modern office located in a prime area. High-quality ergonomic chairs, well-designed interiors, and well-equipped meeting rooms. The company is expanding in India, particularly in Pune, creating new job opportunities. Strong exposure to the pharmaceutical domain, offering valuable industry knowledge. Cab facility provided. Good work-life balance.

Cons

Prevalence of office politics and instances of micromanagement. Not recommended for early-career professionals unless no other option is available. Subpar medical insurance policy with no top-up option available. Inefficient and unprofessional finance and HR (hiring) teams. Plans to expand the workforce are leading to a reduction in employee benefits. Long-tenured employees from Roche may not be very supportive technically. Networking and participation in extra-curricular activities often weigh heavily in promotion decisions, sometimes more than technical performance. Mandatory three-day office attendance policy.

At Roche, we view career development as a journey that often involves multiple paths. Upward mobility is one path. Embracing opportunities to broaden skills and experiences across the business, or exploring new possibilities are alternative paths. Ultimately, individuals are responsible for their own career, but we provide the tools and a workplace where the job description does not define who you are. Rather, it serves as the starting point for your career journey. We’re all working to create a healthier future for everyone, and we start by remembering that when we are growing and thriving as individuals, the more we’re able to give to others. We encourage employees to take advantage of internal development opportunities, or our gigs, which are a great tool for people from diverse backgrounds to network and grow their skill sets quickly. We encourage employees to leverage conversations with their managers or leaders to discuss what might be next in their career.
