No one stays in UK HO for longer than a few months as they go off with stress then leave. Because of this there is no support or clear guidance of who to speak to in HR or Payroll and guidelines or rules are made up off the cuff. No one has ever been able to sort out payroll and due to this when we get payslips (if they come on time) we then have to get all staff to check them immediately to see if they have been paid correctly if they have been paid at all! This is a monthly occurrence. When you have visits from higher management one person will tell you one thing and then someone above them will tell you something completely different so rather than them being accountable for something they are not sure of, the store and team are blamed for any missguidance. When the company does something wrong, for example not paying into our pension for 4 months including your own contributions that have come off your payslip (which is against the law) you are made to feel that if you mention it you will be seen as a trouble maker. When you ask for help to elevate or improve your store from HO because they don't have an answer for you they just ignore you. Then when you discuss it at a later date explaining that if you had received the help your store would have done better, you are then blamed for not getting an answer or someone to help you. Following on from this when you then keep following up with HO to try to get an answer you are then seen as a problem or too aggressive. I was made to feel for a long time at Rituals that nothing I did would ever be good enough for them! My store took a lot of money, well over what they expected from me and I only ever got a thank you or some sort of praise if they knew I was at breaking point. I could go into a lot of examples but I just hope people read this before considering working at Rituals. You are sold a dream and a company that looks after staff and their mental wellbeing but believe me it is the total opposite. Standing on the shop floor advising customers on how to look after themselves and relax when you work in such a stressful, manipulative environment is soul destroying.
