Pros

The cafeteria food is good and sushi days are awesome - but the Caf is a contracted company outside of Ricoh

Cons

Will not let you work from home when you work at Corporate HQ; Training is through an online university and unless you have someone who will take you around and introduce you, it's sink or swim from the first day; Must always be dressed up - never a casual atmosphere except on Fridays and even then there are rules; "There's no such thing as Comp Time" but you work at least 1 weekend a month; "Sick" time taken for a child who is sick will be held against you over time - they do not want you using family as a reason for you not being at work. NO chance for advancement! You constantly work late, and in early and you are watched to make sure you ONLY take an hour for lunch and not more. There is no summer hours in any department which there are no back-ups for your job (almost every)... Ricoh is just not with modern times and using Unified Communications as a means of doing business. Very old school and not for conducive to hiring younger generations!

Pros

Great people to work with, although this could be specific to my particular office. Lots of tools and information at your finger tips. Seems to be a genuinely company with good intentions.

Cons

There is horrible disorganization. As an Account Executive you have many responsibilities that should not be put on the backs of the outside sales force. No one person seems to ever be able to answer a question for you and everything you do gets messed up in some way shape or form. I know the company is going through a restructuring process, but I have never been so frustrated with any job I've had. I was very successful and got awards for being well over my quota. Even with my success considered I don't think the compensation was sufficient for the amount of work put in and there just isn't a clear path for the company right now. They are trying to move from just selling copiers to becoming a technology company. The problem is they don't really know how to do that and try to put the two tasks on one person with a quota for customer contact that doesn't match how the rest of the actually successful technology oriented companies approach this sort of sale. Hopefully one day they will get it straightened out. I hate to say it but don't take a job there unless you are desperate for employment. Just use them as a resume builder and get out.
