Pros

Free lunch is nice. The location (Shinagawa seaside) is very convenient. Salary standard is relatively high. Depending on the division you will belong to, they have pretty nice automated testing environment.

Cons

For younger engineers, I can't recommend Rakuten. Because their education system is pretty unorganized. If you have just graduated from a university, and would become an excellent programmer, Rakuten isn't the best choice.

Get to work on things which you may like.

Cons

It says complete english but it is far far away. Freedom is very little when it comes to work as direct boss can make huge effect on how your progress occurs.
