Pros

Incredible opportunity to learn about the industry and obtain knowledge in audit methodology and operations of companies. I can honestly say that through the numerous audit engagements I was involved with during my tenure at the Firm, it was integral in paving the way for my current position. Experience at the

Cons

Poor work life balance, office politics are rampant leading to dysfunctional work teams. Feedback is often dependent not on whether your perform up to a set standard, but rather how your manager or supervisor likes or dislikes you on a personal basis. Backstabbing and gossip is often out of control.

Pros

The flexibility that working at PwC allows it really a plus. And as a first year associate, it's tough to complain about time off. There are 11 paid holidays and combined with vacation time and the summer "Flex Friday" program, they have set up a great system. Although they have created a CPA bonus program that takes the place of the annual incentive provided (until either you pass the CPA or promote to senior - specifically for Tax), they provide other ways for managers and above to reward their staff for a job well done ("Spot Bonus" Program allows for monetary incentives throughout the year).

Cons

The biggest downside is that as a first year associate, there isn't much differentiation among those who are coasting along, doing what is expected, and those who are going above and beyond their peers.

Pros

Good for newer grads to get fast experience and help jump start a new career. You will get an advantage (albeit not necessarily warranted) in outplacement opportunities by selecting PwC as your employer for the first 3-6 years of your work life.

Cons

You will pay back your salary and bonus in overtime. If you don't fit the mold, you WILL find another job. In other words, if your star is not rising fast...get out when you have the opportunity to leverage the Firm's cache' in the marketplace. Use the firm for what you can, as they will return that favor.
