Pros

PwC is a great place to start your career, with excellent opportunities for new employee training and a recognizable corporate name brand.

Cons

In addition to working on client engagements, there are multiple opportunities to work on internal firm strategic projects. The risk is if you get sucked into internal projects, it will likely hurt your performance rating and related salary increase, bonus and promotions. Your key metrics focus on utilization and hours billable vs. the value delivered on making the firm a more effective organization. For example, there is an internal leadership training program that lasts for several weeks that only the highest rated managers may be considered for. However, after spending several weeks away from client work, expect your next annual performance review to drastically decrease because you didn't meet revenue/utilization goals. Also, if you transfer into into a full time internal role, your headcount will be back filled and at the end of your project, you may not have a position on the client side to return to.
