Pros

The floor/till/back of horse staff and fitting room staff are amazing. There’s always the odd one you won’t click with but the people you’re around a lot, they do become family. They’re experiencing what you are in real time so they can relate to you.

Cons

Management do as they wish and are never reprimanded. Management will often pick favourites that they let get away with everything, while others are disciplined for the same actions. Absolutely no one even a little higher than you cares about you, your well being, what’s going on in life or anything. Yet they have posters up about mental health, it’s comical especially when you’re telling management sensitive information and they just look at you like you’ve bored the life out of them. Hours offer absolutely no balance and even if you have occupational health say hey this person needs to do these hours, have these breaks etc they pretend to care but actually don’t adhere to what’s been set. If you even go on and make arrangements with a manager over a set issue regarding a medical issue and that manager says all is ok they will ignore it was agreed upon soon after. They have management who are medical staff for both the public and employees. If you have a serious medical issue which could require life saving intervention at work then quit. The management won’t even remember your name let alone how to save your life. They do not even follow their own ethos. The store owner couldn’t care less whether you lived or died. They don’t care that you’re sick, they don’t care you’re disabled, they don’t care you need to take medication.
