Pros

Flexible work environment, you don't have your boss hanging over your shoulder. Great benefits - car, salary, 401k, health insurance. They do treat you well in terms of a severance package. So even if you get laid off you have plenty of time to look for a job. The car and free gas are the best perks - not having to pay for gas in this economy is a big bonus. If you get your work done then you can be home at a decent hour. They do have a good time at meetings - by that I mean lots of food and drinks and activities.

Cons

Lack of transparency, data integrity, quotas and rules are always changing. When reports are due they expect you to do them on your personal time. Some managers never tell you what you did well, only what you did poorly. They ask a lot of impossibles. Expect you to see no-see physicians all of the time. They have unrealistic expectations sometimes. POA meetings are the worst. A lot of time spent on preparing a 7 minute detail that you will never use. But if you say something you will be shut down. It's best to go along and just eat the free lunch.

Pros

The money and the benefits. The base pay is good if you have been with the company long enough bnut bonuses are lacking.

Cons

Stability, this company doesn't seem to know where it's going or how soon it will get there. Hold on for a roller coaster ride! Right now there is such turmoil. The managers are so worried about their jobs they are leaving us alone. Some division can not compare their primary product to the competition. It used to be compare and win, now it is hope and pray! If you think I am a "disgruntled slacker" you are wrong. I have 2 vpcs in the last 4 years. I just hate to see what this company has become compared to what it used to be.

Pros

Working in big Pharma is still a really good place to be in the overall scheme of things. The salary is good and I hope it stays that way. The people that work here from diverse backgrounds and the benefits are excellent. Stock price is cheap right now

Cons

The company constantly goes for the homerun swing in terms of their strategy. Sell the consumers health division of the company was simply wrong and hurts us each and every quarter, as J&J is enhanced. Pfizer seems to acquire solid companies (Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia) and dismantle them by decimating communities and the workplaces that at one time supported it. The morale is very low in all of their plants. There will be very few, if any manufacturing plants left in the US. PGE (Engineering) is run like a mafia and if you are not one of them, you will not advance. There seems to be a disconnect with 'respect for people' in that regard - the NY Soprano bully attitude gets old really fast. Pfizer thinks they can outsource everything, from manufacturing to R&D. IThe company apporaches problems as if there is an 'Easy Button' to hit - things aren't black and white.
