      High level of bitter politics, tension

      Pros

      Pfizer gives good benefits, employs good scientists, has decent facilities - can't find anything more nice to say beyond that.

      Cons

      High level of bureaucracy, bitter politics, unfriendly environment - hypocrisy rules. No one is excited about science - kills any love of science you may have by trying to standardize, regulate and make new rules.

      Pfizer: Top down, micro Managerial woes

      Pros

      Ultra competitive compensation, outstanding benefits, opportunity for advancement, and a CEO who I believe is heading the company in the proper direction.

      Cons

      Littered with a number of old "Big Pharma" top down micro Managers, so be careful during the interview process and ensure you ask the right qquestions relative to the attributes you find important in the person you report to. Pfizer has outstanding talent in their respective fields, but that talent does not translate to sound Managerial skills, and with little to no Management training offered, the company seemingly promotes based on the technical knowledge of a candidate as opposed to recognizing the critical skill sets that translates to Managerial success.
