Pfizer is a nice place to work

Pros

The ability to work from home as a perm employee is a plus, at least 2 days a week. Summer/Pfizer fridays start and end with daylight savings time (Mar-Nov), work about an extra 45 a day and leave at 1p on friday. Big company with decent benefits, very flexible work arrangements.

Cons

Impersonal, depending on what site you work in and the dept, difficult to interact with people from other depts. Few private workspaces in some sites. Raises are not great, no bonus at some levels, unlike at other companies where nearly everyone gets some kind of bonus or incentive Own it culture doesn't work as there is no real incentive o work any harder than you have to as there is nothing to work towards as promotions seem few and far between.

Pros

Pay, benefits, time-off. Training is outstanding. Direct managers are for the the most part understanding personally and professionally. Pfizer takes care of those who take care of Pfizer.

Cons

Upper management seems out of touch and getting local work done can be very bureaucratic at times. Industry is highly regulated now.

Good place to start your career

Pros

Pfizer has a strong learning environment for someone starting out in their career. If you find the right mentor, this could be an excellent opportunity to get ahead of the pack. They have excellent benefits all around.

Cons

I feel that biannual review process was not always the best - there tended to be a lot of "curve fitting" within an function/division rather than rating someone based on his/her accomplishments against goals and merits. With so many major M&As over the past decade (Warner-Lambert, Pharmacia, Wyeth, King), the company is still struggling to get all of the integration done.
