Pros

Fast paced, challenging and rewarding career. Employees share an entrepreneurial nature, results oriented and truly competitive environment. PBG will work to provide you with the right experiences in different functional areas and regions. At a time when companies are cutting healthcare benefits, PBG is growing its offerings. Work/life balance is tough to achieve in a 24/7 global economy. So PBG has evolved its thinking into the concept of work/life integration – or a co-mingling of personal and professional commitments. For example, not sure how to build a college fund for your children? Don’t worry -just attend our workshop sponsored by our “HealthyMoney” program. Or if you’re interestedin expanding your own education, you can take advantage of our tuition reimbursement plan. For us diversity includes any charateristic that might make a person unique, race, gender, experience, work style, culture, reiligion, age, language, disability, sexual orientation and interests.

Cons

Results oriented culture can be exhaustive at times.

Pros

You get to work by yourself at your own pace. There was not a direct supervisor breathing down your neck. They give you enough time to catch on to your routine. If you get a good route and take pride in the look of your stores, the commissions can be decent.

Cons

It is a very boring routine. You can learn everything you will ever need to learn within the first year. Promotions are not easy to get. You can be a route salesman for 15 years with little recognition and no room for advancement. I think that the room for advancement is the worst part of the job.

Good place to start a career

Pros

Great place to start a career. Projects are interesting and there are a lot of good folks who work for the company. Lots of career opportunities abound throughout the divisions and the people are very dedicated to their work. Solid brands and a lot of great people who believe in these brands. Employees receive free beverages and/or snacks at their workplace, which is a nice yet inexpensive perk. Local management is very receptive to employee input and really wants to try to make a difference. Senior leadership has improved many things in the past few years that I have been here.

Cons

Benefits have gone downhill in the past few years are more costs are passed onto employees. Concerned that pension may not be around much longer. Work-life balance is frequently discussed but rarely backed up by management. Internal corporate communication is good but we could use more that flows to all levels of the company. Senior leadership should be more visible to the "rank and file" folks within the company. SAP is an interesting system. Promotions are done in a manner that is a mystery to many employees along with employee rankings and reviews each year - have yet to figure this out.
