Pros

Lots of initiative like summer hours, flexible working, parental leave for both parents, good benefits package, all company conferences. All targeted towards better employee engagement and a more contented workforce.

Cons

Working as an IT employee in a publishing company you sometimes feel like a second class citizen treated more as a resource than a person. They know that they need technology to function but see it as a bit of a necessary evil.

Pros

Worked with some very interesting, talented people. Great IT department with lots of resources.

Cons

Management has changed over the years, loss of great talent and promoting people who don't fully understand the publishing business. Folks became a bit cutthroat in certain areas of the business and didn't value knowledge over the years rather promoting themselves.
