The pay and benefits are pretty good

Cons

They will not work with you. Disability? You're lazy. Illness? A doctor's not won't excuse you, you need a hospital note. English isn't your first language? You're dumb. Under 30? Clearly you're asking your paycheck to be screwed over. You're a woman? You're a gossiper that likes to cause trouble and are dramatic. Unless you've already worked there for more than 3 years you will not be taken seriously, and you'll have very little support if any.

Pros

Lots of benefits, summer hours, flexible working, friendly team. The MD for the publishing house I work for is great, there's a non-hierarchical structure, you can openly share ideas - to note this is a rarity and each division is run differently.

Cons

There's a ceiling for progression. All divisions are run differently - I think I'm lucky to be in one of the best.
