Pros

Excellent Benefits, Great Salary, Good Community

Cons

Some divisions are run erratically and have a high amount of turnover and layoffs. Can be slow to develop new technologies and be innovative. The approval process for visuals is complex and arduous which causes all involved to lose confidence. Editors no longer have confidence which creates more work for the support departments.

Pros

You get to work with smart, fun, and caring people that genuinely love what they do. It's also cool to have Summer Fridays (offices close at 12:30pm on Fridays between Memorial Day and Labor Day).

Cons

Promotions are rare. It's also publishing, so the pay isn't that great.

Pros

My colleagues and management can't be beat --we have the unique bond of sharing the same passion for books. That's why you work in publishing!

Cons

It's such a great company, that no one wants to leave! Moving up is a slow process. Work life balance can be tough.
