Pros

Free books, the work is honestly pretty satisfying when everything runs smoothly, absolutely unbeatable benefits (18–20 weeks paid and protected maternity leave depending on delivery method!!) and good PTO.

Cons

Pay-to-workload ratio is a joke. They keep loading more work on, on shorter and shorter deadlines, and you're considered lucky to get a 3% raise. Lists are getting longer and none of the publishers seem to care that the world is on fire so some of these on sale dates are literally impossible.

Pros

Best pay in the publishing industry by far but that isn't saying much. Great books. Bigger budgets for publicity and marketing. Great benefits.

Cons

Small raises year-over-year. Promotions take forever and are based on time spent in the position, not merit. Lack of diversity.
