Pros

Great coworkers, wonderful benefits and tons of vacation-- this is a German owned company so everyone starts with 4 weeks vacation. It's a great company and people stay for a long time. After10 years you get a one-month sabbatical and 5 weeks vacation. Plus lots of free books.

Cons

The downside of all of this vacation is that the pay is low, which is tough when you're living in one of the most expensive cities in the US. In my group, it tough to move up the ladder-- there's just nowhere to go unless you transfer to another department.

Pros

This is a great environment filled with creative souls devoted to publishing great books. It's pretty much a tote bag party.

Cons

Publishing will never pay well, and you generally have to move out in order to move up.
