Pros

Smart, talented group of people. A division of Pearson Learning Solutions (formerly Pearson Custom) which is part of Pearson Education, a global leader in education, technology and services. Being part of Pearson IS the 'pro'. Pearson Integrated Solutions partners with clients to design total, client-driven education solutions utilizing Pearson's vast wealth of content and products.

Cons

The group has grown quickly and has a fast-paced, workaholic culture (working until 1am and on weekends is considered normal by many). Those on the inside track like to play hard and have a tendency to hire their closest friends and family members (nepotism = unflinching loyalty). A lack of responsiveness from leadership creates a crisis mentality and unnecessary stress.

Pros

I met and worked with many great, intelligent people at Pearson. I also received two promotions in the three years that I worked for Pearson Education and felt that I was generally compensated fairly.

Cons

I ultimately left because the company was continually more motivated by profit than anything else. I started in college publishing because I was passionate and interested in education; however, with skyrocketing prices and questionable digital strategies, it was eventually impossible for me to invest so much time and energy for a company and products that ultimately conflicted with my values as a human being. In addition, there was classic sexism and brutal management problems in my particular group and office. It was apparent that if you were on the ride side of management you could get away with murder and the rest were left to suffer in their wake.
