Pros

Working with authors and other smart people; Getting to see books before they are published; easy-going management with ability to create semi-flexible schedules; Often promote from within - it seemed like every position that was posted was posted with someone in mind. This is good for current employees, bad for incoming ones, but the EA positions are almost always hired from outside since these are entry-level

Cons

Low pay; promotions are impossible to get if you don't want to go into sales - most DE positions are now freelancers, meaning no room for employees to take these positions.

Pros

Many wonderful, knowledgable, and talented people. Good company and benefits.

Cons

Senior management feels the need to be in absolute control. Big micromanagers. Do not know how to communicate. Very heavy workload in the summer, slow rest of the year.
