Pros

Benefits are generally good. Pre-covid, free trips to Portugal? Could be a good stepping stone to your next real job.

Cons

Work life balance for field sales is non-existant due to new economical pressures. Its a shotgun approach to new pursuits. Leadership continues to add like-minded individuals living in their past at places like Okta, Splunk, etc. Do not welcome opinions or challenges of ideas. Quickly becoming a death-by-analysis field and sales organization. Little to no career growth, if you aren't hired at the highest position you desire here, don't believe the hype that you will be promoted. All RVPs and Senior Directors are coming from outside in and only from firms like Splunk, Salesforce, or the Friends with Benefits program of senior leaders. If you aren't one of the few, you're an expendable cog in the wheel and be wary that whole teams have been fired on a whim.

Pros

Depending on your team/context: - Don't have a tight schedule. - Some of the team are allowed one weekday to work remotely. )Others are strictly forbidden. Why? I honestly don't.) - The office is superb. Really open space with a lot of meeting rooms and cool spaces to eat. - You can order your mail and get it deliver there. It's really handy.

Cons

- Business model is a joke. Since Goldman Sachs entered with their investment their growth pressure trumps quality and sustainable growth. I have no doubt that OutSystems will crash. - Wrong competences in the wrong palces. Technical profiles are all over the place making decisions like machines. They don't have any business knowledge, nor strategic knowledge. OS engineers think they rule the world but the only world they rule is their own imaginary world. - "Ask why" is a joke. They don't even know the 5 whys technique which is aimed to root analyse a problem. They just used it because "it's cool". - They are luring the wrong crowd: junior and imature profiles who like snooker and free beers but don't care about OS business. - A lot of differences between outcontractor and internal folks. Well...guess what OS? You are not doing a favour when inviting external folks to meetings because we are working for the same thing. Right? If we put aside certain people, we have teams with no change of being equally productive because they don't have access to the same information.

Pros

Some good people to work with - although most have now left Watching the EMEA VP expel nasal sputum and debris from his nose into his dinner plate sat at a table full of employees and their partners at Club like it's the normal polite thing to do.

Cons

Mass exodus of employees since Dec 2022/Jan 2023. Lots of talent has left leaving a vacuum the middle management's arrogance can't fill. Even the competition are using this with customers and prospects, Outsystems has become a laughing stock (see Forbes report and LinkedIn posts) You will be micromanaged to within an inch of your life by people who have never actually done the job themselves but have become theoretical experts thanks to internet searches on "how to". So long as you are compliant, have no opinion yourself, nod when told to then you might be ok. You must love spreadsheets, slides and lots of pointless internal meetings to keep you from speaking to customers. A license model that changes 2 or 3 times a year, always to the detriment of loyal customers Outsystems has lost its way and its morality is in the gutter along with its disastrous EMEA management chain. It always talks about its culture and how proud they are of it but they must keep that culture locked in a box in Portugal because no one gets to see it apart from when it's virtue signalling time.
