- There is no such thing as an annual bonus, raise or promotion. It all depends on managers 3-4 levels above you. If they decide to give themselves a good bonus to improve their golf game then that money isn't going to trickle down.
- All manager titles from M2-M4 mean nothing, they don't have any visibility of the budget, raises, bonuses, etc. Their answer to everything is, "I wish I knew the answer but I don't".
- Oracle has offices around the world and so do other tech companies like Google, but the way Oracle treats engineers in countries like India is pathetic. Indian engineers are only hired to maintain legacy products paying them roughly $5k(converted to dollars) annually while companies like Google only hire the smartest and pay at least $50k(converted to dollars) annually to engineers in India. Oracle's business model is to acquire companies -> figure out how much of the engineering can be off-shored to India, and then just keep 5-10 engineers in the US because anything else is expensive. If your company recently got acquired by Oracle, start looking for another job before they start off-shoring engineering work.

- HR department is a joke, they will not care about anything you say.
- Oracle doesn't even give swag to new hires, you need to buy your own swag when you join the company.
- No free food. They took away free food when we were acquired.
